Once again, the community answered our call, holding events to raise funds, organising office collections, going above and beyond to support our projects at Christmas. There are almost too many to mention, but we give thanks to some of them here.

The amazing Cambridge Chorale invited Matt to attend their Jingle All The Way carol concert at St Andrew’s Street Baptist Church for a second year. It was a lovely family event, and we thank everyone for their donations.

Sophie and her jazz trio dressed in novelty Christmas costumes outside Cambridge Guildhall

Colleen Sheridan and her merry band dressed to the max and treated shoppers in Market Square to some fine festive jazz whilst raising funds for us.

Sophie Pearson and her colleagues at Costello Medical donated funds and food items after they heard about our work. Our friend and supporter Sophie Young helped students at Trinity College organise a collection of presents. The pupils at Holme Court School in Cherry Hinton chose to support us for a second year.

Buckingham Emergency Food Appeal (BEFA) continued their incredible deliveries of fresh fruit, vegetables and other essentials. For Christmas they added a turkey, delicious cake and loads of chocolate that were a hit with everyone.

Sophie Pearson delivers a cargo bike load of donations to Crossways. Lis Silver is there to meet her.

Cambridge Sustainable Food (CSF) added mince pies and other treats to their regular donations of food that would otherwise go to waste. We are happy to be part of this growing network of local organisations.

St Andrew’s Chesterton have provided us with our daily milk and bread for several years, purchased from our nearby Spar to show support for a local business. Their team also collect unsold pastries and baked goods from Tesco. We pass any that we cannot use on to other local groups as part of the CSF network.

If you would like to organise a collection at your workplace, school or group, this list gives details of items we can always use. If you have something specific in mind, please do contact us
