We simply could not continue to run our projects without the support of the business community. Whether through grants, fundraising events, volunteering or donations of items and expertise, every partnership means the world to us, and we would like to celebrate some of them here.
Solitaire and the team at Pickfords Self Storage in Clifton Way continue to support us, providing a unit for our Street Storage project and other items that we need to store, but don’t have space for elsewhere. They regularly contact us with offers of furniture and things that we might find useful.
Our partnership with Bidwells continues to grow. Over the past few years, they have provided us with valuable advice and guidance. Their staff regularly collect and donate items, as well as volunteering to spruce up The Haven during the Summer, beautifully decorating the lounge on the hottest day of the year. Neil Kelly, Head of Land and Development, recently completed a successful summiting of Mount Kilimanjaro to raise funds for ITAC Community Land Trust. We are thrilled that this Christmas they are planning a ‘giving tree’ in their office and a donation of preloved but no longer needed coats.
Mills & Reeve have been generous donors of both funds and legal support. Two years ago staff invited us to talk to them on International Women’s Day and have collected regularly for The Haven via a ‘giving tree’.
PEM recently donated three laptops that were gratefully received by our team, replacing devices with operating systems that Microsoft no longer supported. PEM are always ready to support us with space for meetings, printing and equipment for events, like gazebos and tables. We are thrilled that they too will be joining our Christmas campaign with a ‘giving tree’.
Debbie Larrad, founder of Famille, has generously given her time and expertise to mentor Matt, our Coordinator, over the last year. Her insights have helped him greatly in using our social media more effectively. Debbie also provided invaluable advice about the design of our new website, due to go ‘live’ in November. Staff at Famille also collected donations to support our projects.
