In his 50s, Paul had found accommodation in the past but abandoned it as a victim of intimidation and exploitation. He was sleeping rough prior to coming into Crossways. For some years, Paul has suffered from poor physical health, affecting his mobility.
Paul had been with us at Crossways previously. We knew he found engagement with multiple services challenging and found it difficult to reconcile what his life is like now compared to his more settled past.
With support and encouragement from our team, Paul was able to get the assistance he needed, including an occupational therapy assessment. This should enable him to receive priority bidding for a social housing tenancy, with adaptations to support Paul’s physical needs.
Our Survive and Thrive team continue to provide ongoing support, including regular phone calls and face to face chats to ensure that past exploitation and intimidation is not repeated, and that Paul’s renewed sense of confidence can continue to grow.
