Preparations are underway for the reopening of Crossways for what will be the projects’ sixth year.

Open from November through to the end of March, Crossways is our winter emergency accommodation project, providing twenty rooms for people who would otherwise be trying to survive on the streets. We also provide three emergency pop-up beds during SWEP (Severe Weather Emergency Protocol) periods.

You can read all about last winter in this short report.

‘Ending homelessness in Cambridge isn’t a task for one organisation alone, it’s a shared responsibility. Crossways is a fantastic example of collaboration, providing accommodation and support, thus offering the stability to enable people to leave the streets for good’. Simon Penn, Cambridge City Council.

Each guest has their own furnished room, which we encourage them to make feel like their own. Every guest has private bathroom facilities. Most have an en-suite shower room with sink and toilet. Generous community support means we can provide them with essentials such as toiletries and underwear upon arrival and throughout their stay.

Whilst the project is staffed by our experienced team of support workers and Evolve Security guards, it is through collaboration and partnership that we achieve lasting change for the people we support.
