This week (1-7 June) is Volunteers’ Week, an opportunity for us to thank and celebrate some of the amazing people from across the Cambridge business community who have given us their time, expertise and passion over the past year, including:
An enthusiastic group from PEM getting stuck into every nook and cranny with mop and bucket to prepare Crossways for the arrival of our guests last Autumn.
Teams from The Cambridge Building Society and Cogentia Healthcare Consulting rolling up their sleeves, picking up the brushes and giving the rooms, corridors and pergola a much-needed refresh in April.

Staff from The Cambridge also helped support The Haven, our safe city centre space for at-risk women.
Professional gardener, Suzie Nicholson, supporting our guests and Volunteer Coordinator in an ongoing project to make the courtyard garden a lovely space for everyone to chill out and spend time in.
Jackie Sharp at Sawston Carpets and Neil Winning at Diamond Flooring and Carpets Ltd who laid carpet tiles pro bono in some of the rooms at Crossways.

Shelley Belgrove Clinical Director and co-founder of well:o, a dental wellness studio, for providing an oral health workshop for our residents.
Graphic design specialist Chris Gooch of Open Design Agency who updated our logo and provided it in a range of formats so we can use it more effectively.
Hamza from Fresh Cut of Newnham Road, who volunteered his time, equipment and skills just before Christmas at Crossways, giving five of our guests a welcome haircut.
Ed Cowdrith our amazing volunteer handyman, who has been there with his toolbox to help with numerous projects.
Volunteers were able to find out more about the many causes of homelessness and the extensive support ITAC provides to help them move back into accommodation of their own.
If you would like to join these and other Cambridge businesses and individuals in supporting people experiencing homelessness in the city, please contact info@itac.org.uk. We’re ready to start a conversation.
