It is with great sadness that we pay tribute to our friend Lesley Crocker, who passed away on 26th August. As a colleague, trustee and committed volunteer, Lesley was always there with her wonderful smile and positive attitude, lifting the spirits of all who she stood alongside and supported.

From delivering meals during Covid to packing Christmas gifts and cleaning rooms every year at Crossways, Lesley saw what needed to be done, quietly got on and made it happen.

Chris Jenkin, ITAC founder and Chair said ‘Lesley was instrumental from the early days of Covid and such a rock. Always cheerful, always kind and nothing was too much trouble. She never let up on helping. Sincere condolences to her family and friends. She gave so much. We will always remember’.

Others who had been privileged to know Lesley also shared their thoughts and memories with us.

‘I met Lesley during lockdown when we were delivering lunches to Masters House and various hotels. She was so warm and friendly to all the residents, and lovely to spend time with. A great loss’.

‘I can only echo the sentiments already expressed about the kind and generous person that Lesley was.  She’ll be missed by us all’.

‘Lesley will be much missed. In her quiet and gentle way, she did so much behind the scenes, picking up weekend shifts at short notice, spotting an item that we were running short on and buying in bulk’.

Even after her passing, we were contacted by a friend of Lesley’s who told us she had already been collecting for our winter project. An entire carload of useful things ‘for her boys’.

Several colleagues attended Lesley’s funeral service to pay their respects. Our thoughts are with Lesley’s family and friends at this difficult time.
