Over the past five Winters, from November to March, It Takes A City (Cambridge) has provided a safe and welcoming environment for people who would otherwise face sleeping rough on the streets of Cambridge, in our emergency accommodation project known as ‘Crossways’.

We wanted to let you know about an exciting new project that we will be running from April until October at the same location, to be called ‘176’.

During these months, the property will be used to accommodate single homeless people owed a statutory duty by Cambridge City Council, who would otherwise be placed into bed and breakfast accommodation.

Bed and breakfast can often be located outside of the area and away from people’s main support networks.

Residents of 176 will enjoy support from the same experienced team that operates in the Winter. We welcome this opportunity to be able to provide a locally based provision for this group of people experiencing homelessness.
