‘L’ had been evicted from their accommodation and was living in a homelessness hostel with very limited space. The previous accommodation provider had looked after L’s belongings for a while but could no longer store them for her.

It was challenging to get in contact with L. Because of illness she would have struggled to transport her belongings to the Street Storage location. By working with staff at both Cyrenians and Jimmy’s Cambridge, we were able to make arrangements to pick up her belongings and transport them to our project.

Fortunately, L was able to move into her own flat a few months after we started storing for her, and our staff were able to drop off her belongings to her door.

Most of the items we stored for her were kitchen equipment. Without access to storage space while she was in a hostel, she would have had to start from scratch when moving into her new property.
