We were delighted when a recent production of Louisa May Alcott’s ‘Little Women’ chose to support The Haven, our overnight safe space for homeless and at-risk women in Cambridge city centre.

The show, put on by Cambridge University Amateur Dramatic Club, played to packed houses and was very powerful, sticking closely to the narrative in the book, with the character of each of the four sisters beautifully expressed as they remain strong despite tragedy and difficult circumstances. The acting was outstanding and much enjoyed by everyone in the audience.

Volunteers from The Haven and Women’s Homelessness Action Group (WHAG) were on hand to answer theatregoers’ questions and collect donations of over £400 across the run of shows.

Co-director, Emily, is also a regular volunteer at The Haven. You can find out more about volunteering, or other ways to support our work with those experiencing homelessness in Cambridge here
