We Couldn't Do It Without You

22/12/2022

2022 has been a challenging year for those experiencing or at risk of homelessness. In Cambridge, we are fortunate to have an amazing network of groups and individuals willing to go the extra mile.

Without your support, It Takes A City would not have been able to continue providing dignity and comfort at Crossways, our winter emergency accommodation project.

Through our Action Groups you have come together to seek solutions that are sustainable and focused on the individual in need.

You have helped us communicate with the wider community through sharing our social media posts and inviting our team to speak at events both online and in person.

As a small charity, we would not have been able to achieve any of the above without your support, for which we are immensely grateful.

Lis Silver, ITAC Interim CEO, offered her personal thanks.

“The recent period of cold weather has made us all aware how tough living on the streets must be at this time of year.  It has been amazing to see the help It Takes A City  have received from the local community. Individuals, both town and gown, have provided support to our guests at Crossways.

Working in partnership with CCHP, we have a team of over 100 volunteers who cook and serve every evening meal and give time to help with housekeeping and to provide companionship to residents”.

“It takes the whole city working in partnership to make change a reality”

“Other local charities and churches have generously provided donations. In addition, we have received wonderful support  from the  business community, who have stepped forward and offered their professional services either pro bono or at affordable rates.

As a small charity we are able to do big things because of the support of our local community. It takes the whole city working in partnership to make change a reality”.

It Takes A City have big plans for the year ahead. We look forward to telling you more and trust that you will continue supporting our aim to end rough sleeping in Cambridge due to homelessness, making sure everyone has somewhere to call home, with the support they need.

Until then, we wish you all a happy, peaceful Christmas and New Year.
