Prepared With Love

With Crossways, our emergency winter accommodation for rough sleepers reopening soon, we are delighted to announce a new partnership with local business Cambridge Dining Co to provide delicious and nutritious meals for our guests. Funding from a CambsCuisine Cambridge Community Foundation grant will enable us to pay for ingredients, with the amazing team at CDC donating their time to prepare and cook the meals for three nights each week.

Simon Day at Cambridge Dining Co. said ‘Cambridge Dining Co. are proud to collaborate with our partners Cambscuisine and Cambridge Community City foundation in supporting local charity It Takes A City. We have been truly inspired by their vision and efforts to end rough sleeping in Cambridge’.

Our company will be supporting their winter shelter by delivering hot, nutritious meals weekly to residents during the winter period via our ‘Workplace Catering’ system. Our homely, honest food is freshly prepared by our team of chefs and efficiently delivered straight to the door. The dishes are designed to be hearty and satisfying as well as excite and sustain’.

‘We are proud to be a business that gives back to our community by supporting various local charities and It Takes A City is no exception’.

“We are proud to be a business that gives back to our community”

Chris Dade, ITAC Support services Manager, said of the partnership ‘It Takes A City and its team at Crossways are delighted that Cambridge Dining Co, with the support of Cambscuisine and Cambridgeshire Community Foundation, will be providing hot nutritious meals to the residents at our winter project throughout our months of operation’.

‘For those who have been rough sleeping and lacking the home comforts that so many of us take for granted the Crossways provision is the first step on a housing journey, but also a journey to improve health and general wellbeing.  And the evening meals that we offer to our residents are a very important part of that journey.  The support of Cambridge Dining Co and its commitment to give back to the local community represents a significant contribution to us being able to transform many lives over the course of the coming winter.  We offer them our sincere thanks’.
