How the Haven is changing lives

Homelessness can be incredibly isolating for homeless and vulnerable women. Since opening six months ago, The Haven has supported 24 such women in Cambridge, offering a warm meal, clothes and comfort, and a safe place to rest.

‘F’ was struggling with a volatile street lifestyle and alcohol dependency but through the trust and support of The Haven team she was able to access emergency accommodation at just the right time. Now she’s taking steps toward long-term housing and better health.

After four years of rough sleeping and avoiding services, ‘B’ found comfort at The Haven. With no pressure, just support on her own terms, she eventually accepted emergency accommodation. Now, she’s working with the team to find permanent housing.

Ahead of International Women’s Day on 8th March, we’re celebrating our small but powerful wins. Take a look at our 6-month report where we share the findings from our pilot so far.
