Our third article in the ‘3 Streets’ series focuses on the work of Caring for Cambridgeshire’s Homeless (CCH). You can read our previous two articles, showcasing StreetVet and Cambridge Women’s Resources Centre on our website.
CCH have been established for around 5 years. They are a non-funded, community support volunteer group offering care and kindness to the rough sleepers and vulnerably housed in Cambridgeshire.
Their friendly team of volunteers take out supplies of food, clothing and essentials to those in need. Their main focus is to provide a person with kindness and hope, especially to those who feel hopeless. Their food and donations aim to bring a little comfort to those experiencing hardship and despair.
You will find CCH pulling their trollies around the streets of Cambridge, stopping to support people they meet along the way. They provide food bags, hot drinks, sleeping bags, clothing, and often have hot food to hand out too. A lot of the time a smile, a friendly face and an ear willing to listen is all that is required.
