Photo of Alice GilderdaleWe are excited to announce that Alice Gilderdale has joined the It Takes a City Team. Alice will be taking on the role of Information Editor for the Street Support Cambridgeshire website, ensuring a comprehensive resource for those seeking help for our homeless neighbours.

Alice was born in Cambridge where she has lived and studied her whole life. She is a recent graduate in Sociology from Cambridge University, where she was a key campaigner on issues such as justice for workers, UCU recognition and fossil fuel divestment. Over the past year she worked as the Welfare and Community Officer for the Cambridge Students’ Union, where she has pushed for action on homelessness and period poverty in Cambridge, fought high rents and supported students through the Covid-19 pandemic. In May 2021 she was elected as a local Labour Councillor for Market Ward where she continues to campaign for social justice.
