ITAC have joined 40+ organisations in signing a letter, prepared by Solace Women’s Aid, calling on the new government to put women’s homelessness on the agenda and tackle systemic disadvantages faced by women.
The coalition of organisations calls on the Government to change the way that women’s rough sleeping is recognised, counted and responded to, including:
- Making the Government’s response to homelessness and rough sleeping gender-informed.
- Resourcing and leading the women’s rough sleeping census.
- Ensuring women have access to safe and suitable accommodation.
We will also be supporting this years’ Women’s Homelessness Census, organised in Cambridge by Change Grow Live, helping ensure our new Haven project meets the needs of ‘hidden’ homeless women in Cambridge.
