Lis Silver, our CEO, was recently invited to speak at the harvest services of two local churches, St Andrew’s Street Baptist Church and New Life Church, Cambridge (meeting in Eddington).
At both services, Lis had the opportunity to talk about It Takes A City’s work with some of Cambridge’s most disadvantaged rough sleepers, with Crossways providing a respite from life on the streets and the first step on the journey from street to home.
Even in our modern world, harvest is still an important time to reflect. The war in Ukraine has shown how quickly events in one country can affect the supply of vital food globally.
Lis thanked St Andrew’s for their continuing support, including providing office and meeting space for our team and offering the church as a collection point for donations of food and other items, all coordinated by the amazing Eileen Hori.
New Life Church generously donated the items collected by their congregation for harvest festival. The donations will help stock the cupboards at Crossways, ahead of reopening on 1st November. We thank them for their support.
If you would like to donate to Crossways, please contact itacdonations@ittakesacity.org.uk to arrange delivery or collection.
