We are busy preparing for the reopening of Crossways, our winter emergency accommodation project, on 1st November. For a third year, we’ll be providing safety and dignity for some of the city’s most disadvantaged rough sleepers. Read this short report about last years’ project.

We are working with our partners at Cambridge Churches Homeless Project (CCHP) to recruit and train volunteers to help us make a home for our guests.

There are volunteer roles that do not require specific skills, qualifications, or experience. The Support Us page provides full details and a link to the short form.

Crossways volunteers are a diverse group, reflecting all sectors of Cambridge society (aged 18+ due to the nature of the project).

‘I am very glad that I volunteered there, it felt like a really worthwhile use of my time. The other volunteers were friendly and my conversations with the residents were an eye-opening experience.’ — B (Student).

‘I have thoroughly enjoyed being part of this amazing project and meeting such incredible people along the way’ – Barry (Regular volunteer who recently moved to Cambridge).
